Screenvision: Calling All Filmmakers!

May 10th, 2007

So I’m in the theatre getting ready to watch spiderman 3 ( which was pretty awesome by the way ) and that annoying guy from screenvision came on the screen like usual. His mention of animated films intrigued me so I kept watching/listening. Apparently screenvision is making a dedication to animated shorts and by doing so they’re choosing animations to play on THE BIG SCREEN!!

So the first animated short that came on was these instruments who were playing themselves. There were many bases and guitars, a drum and some other musical instruments. They were moving as they played along this really long what looked like a bendy floor/hallway thing then went under and in tunnels and so much more. I cant remember what it was called, maybe someone knows and could refresh my memory with a link of some sort lol.

The next film that came on is very familiar to Channel Frederator, and I was surprised to see a film I knew. It’s called “Swings” by Esteban Azuela. Read more about that short here!

Here’s the info directly from the Screenvision website

“Screenvision is looking to showcase creative short films by independent filmmakers like you. All you need to do is send us your original, 2 minute film (appropriate to run in front of all MPAA ratings), for a chance to have it seen within a future screening of Screenvision’s High Definition Digital Preshow.

Fun, creative, serious, dramatic, factual, fictional–whatever genre you produce, we want to give you a chance to show your work to a an engaged audience and promote your talent.

Screenvision’s Digital Preshow program runs in quality movie theatres around the country through premier exhibitors including Carmike Cinemas, Mann Theatres, National Amusements, AMC Loews, Colorado Cinema Group Theatres, Malco Theatres, Rave Motion Pictures, UltraStar, CinemaStar and Hogan Theatres. “
