Congrats to HAPPY FEET and THE DANISH POET for winning best animated film and short, respectively.

Check out this great online series by James Far which has reached 13 million downloads to date. Xombified. I’ve been following it for years and I have to say it’s pretty cool for an online series. Nice designs, pretty good acting and a decent story. And just recently Devil’s Due picked it up as a comic book series.
Honestly I’m kinda surprised no one in animation has tapped into this dude for a series.
From the Xombified website:

While this video is a bit strange, it’s nice to see animation talked about on television. Walt Disney didn’t make Tom & Jerry, but I don’t think that’s the point of the video anyway.
Check out this touching film about loss and getting old called The Piano

If you’ve ever seen an episode of Voltron, any episode, then you’ve seen this bit of animation. They used it every time they needed to form Voltron.
What other famous (or infamous) re-uses of animation can you think of? I’m not talking about walk cycles that go on and on, opening credits, or Yogi running past the same two trees over and over. I’m wondering what other shows used entire sequences of animation over and over?

Check this interesting little file out. It shows the steps of someone making a painting. I have no idea who did it but I believe it was done with Autodesk Sketchbook Pro. ( my favorite app BTW) Pretty cool huh?
