Who Is The Channel Frederator Cartoonist Of The Year?

We need your help.
One of things we’re most looking forward to as part of The Channel Frederator Awards on January 24th is to recognize the person who the cartoon communty at large feels has made the most people in the world pay attention to animation in 2006. Now, we have some thoughts as to who that person should be (although there is some internal debate among the Frederator camp), but we’d really like to hear some suggestions from you. Is it the head of a major studio or some indie animator working out of her basement? A TV storyboard artist, the director of a theatrical feature, or the developer of some new animation software program? You tell us who you think it should be. And why. Finally, if you disagree with someone’s opinion (including ours), we want to know that, too.
So post your thoughts below. We want to hear who you think should be honored as the very first Channel Frederator Cartoonist of the Year.
As always, thanks for your opinions.
– Eric

it should be all of the bleary eyed pale face no name hunchback cubicle inhabitants that actually make the shows - not a “creator”

So I vote for Bill Plympton. There’s absolutely no one like him in the industry; he’s completely unique. There should be more like him and here’s hoping when he gets Cartoonist of the Year it’ll inspire others to follow in his story-steps.

Granted, there are many people who have championed the medium this year but none so much as Bob Iger and John Lasseter who both gave us hope for a new Disney and the future of 2D Feature Animation.

yes we fell our heartily felt favorite animator of the year would have to be Jeaux Janovsky. this is simple really. he has 3 asains on staff. they all wear buttons with his name on it. two of them are not only not wearing pants. but they have tube socks on as well. the strength of this man is that of many whale genitals. all erect. and all encompassing. please consider him for a golden shower of glory.
