This is Mandy, a character by seasoned illustrator Dean Yeagle. Dean has been in the illustration and animation biz for decades, yet his art looks as fresh and hip as that of an up-and-comer. Dean says Mandy has found an audience in men and women alike due to her apparent playful innocence.

Wow this guys work is great! Alittle too sexual for me, but hes got great anatomy and character design skills!

I interviewed Dean for a 3rd grade project! No joke! He’s the neighbor of a family friend. I did my project on cartoons and asked him questions about being an animator. 1985… he was in the midst of a Honey Nut Cheerios commercial. It inspired me to grow up to be an animator and now I am!

Wow, thats awesome!

Hello, Dan! I was alerted to this blog by Jake (above) who posted my Mandy drawings, and what a surprise! I remember you, and that interview. I was working at Zander’s Animation Parlour in NYC. And I remember the overwhelming compliment you paid me…I had a small drawing I’d done of an elephant, and you, in your 8 yr old wisdom, said it was the ‘best drawing ever’. I’ve kept that drawing in my portfolio ever since, in case you’re not an isolated case. In fact, I put it in one of the sketchbooks I publish and sell in comic stores and online. I’m happy you remember, and flattered to think you made a career choice in part because of my work. Good luck in your career!
