“Swing” by Esteban Azuela: Channel Frederator Featured Film

An old couple takes a journey back in time in a beautifully told story about two people who rediscover their younger selves.

Says filmmaker Esteban Azuela, “The idea for “Swing” came up when I was taking a break from school, I went to a park and I saw a swing set. I felt that those empty swings were calling me to jump on them. And I saw the park as a place full of energy where the sky is the limit and age is lack of importance. I made this film as part of my one year program at Vancouver Film School, where you have to rush for 108 days to build an animated piece from the ground up. It was a great experience to do it in this way, the film became part of your life, you canĀ“t stop thinking of it, not even in your dreams. But you enjoy every single stage of the process!

Esteban, this was a very touching film, and it’s a great story on how you made it as well. Thank you!
