Episode 50

Unlucky Sheep 13 runs away from the flock causing a young boy insomnia. It’s up to the rest of the flock to get him back!

Not only is this film super great by itself, but what some of you may not know is that filmmaker Kyle McQueen also won the $10,000 Grand Prize at this year’s Nicktoons Network Animation Festival for “Sheep 13″. So not only is Kyle a good filmmaker…he’s RICH. Sorry laides, he’s recently hitched.

Says McQueen, “I came up with the idea after rejecting 3 other half finished ideas. I was a third year student at Sheridan College and as such, I was required to write, direct, design and animate a student short film…in 8 months. 4 months of development, 4 months of execution. I wanted to do a story about seeing the big picture in life and not getting caught up in the small details, so I settled on a narrative about a sheep who has one single purpose in life but can never fullfill it.

I had an excellent teacher named Barry Parker whose amazing voice I used for the second time, and the other voice (Kean) was me. The film was made both at the shool and my home, though a majority was done at school. Looking back at it, it was an amazing experience and i’m dying to sweat over another short film soon. I’m still pretty proud if it and it has brought me a lot of luck and opened up tons of opportunities (like this one) that I may never have had otherwise, though to my eyes now it looks a little “crude”, it still turned out exactly as I wanted.”
