Channel Frederator Blog

Wanted: Cartoon bloggers.

You might have noticed we’ve been trying to blog more often, and about more than only the weekly films we run on Channel Frederator. Because the whole reason we’re into this thing in the first place is how much we like cartoons and their makers.

So, as we’ve blogged before, we’re searching for anywhere from one to five more bloggers (depending on how many posts you can do per week) to help contribute to the Channel Frederator blog. Ultimately, we’re hoping for 15 to 25 posts per week, with at least three interviews of filmmakers per week. The idea would be to post art from a favorite [link]animator[/link] or cartoonist, or maybe a link to one of his/her films (whether or not the film runs on the channel) with a little bit of information about him/her, and a link to more of their work. We love what Drawn does with these kinds of posts, and how Cold, Hard, Flash intelligently interviews filmmakers. We’re hoping that our channel can focus more exclusively on animation than Drawn, and with more breadth than CHF. Keep reading those two –we will– but let’s give cartoonist and their films the hype they deserve too.

Anyone who’s interested can send us links to their writing, or writing samples, at vj@channelfrederator.com. We haven’t figured out fees yet, but, honestly, they’ll be kind of low. Not low for blogging, but low for getting rich. We’ll be looking at the quality of your writing, the depth of your knowledge (not too deep is necessary, but, deep enough. Whatever that means.) And, it’s OK if you have your own blog already. The more the merrier.

Don’t worry about whether you personally know animators or not. We’ll put you in touch with your first 1000, and from then on they can introduce you to more of the people they know.

Thanks, we’re looking forward to beefing up our blogging soon. With you.

PS: The cartoon up above is my favorite of what came up when we Google Imaged cartoon bloggers, but these two were pretty great too.
