Says frequent commentor tuomime on our Channel Frederator Blog “This was positively and utterly delightful. It merited a 5 completely where as normally I grade things on here compared to others in the episode. There’s only been about 4 other toons on here that I’ve liked as much.”

There is something completely captivating about “Bendito Machine” by zumbakamera. Be it the detailed, clean designs, the intricate story telling, or the overall message: be careful what you destroy–it could come back to haunt you…I was enthralled from beginning to end.

Tom Cardo Moreno: “Bastard”

Nobody likes a bastard. Except if he’s made into a terrific animated short for Channel Frederator. And this one is no exception! So what makes someone want to write a film about a complete and utter bastard?

Says creator Tom Cardo Moreno, “Basically came up with the idea for the film at University**, where the theme for the project was ‘Bastard’, and simply created this character (which is still my favourite.) The rest is history. When making it, all I wanted from the film was for it to be easy to watch and funny. If it made me laugh I included in the animation.”

Thanks Tom!

**Tom attended the University of Pymouth, Exeter Campus in the UK and studied Illustration.

I had made short films in the past, so I had a little experience going in. I started thinking of a theme and a character that I would have fun animating, so I came up with the dog first. After that, the story developed further until I had a good script. Initially, I wasn’t considering entering it in any festival at all, but I happened to get an e-mail out of the blue from Cineme asking me if I had a film to enter. The judges were [Read more…]
