Mike Hollingsworth: “The Superlative World of Abbreviation”

February 15th, 2006

When Announcer Ron, and the Abbreviation Bunny crossed my screen, I thought two things: 1. Random! 2. I love it!. My favorite aspect of the short isn’t that it’s about abbreviations; it’s the fact that a cute, innocent bunny gets berated and humiliated by an announcer named Ron. Priceless.

Says Hollingsworth, “The Superlative World of Abbreviation was inspired by my resentment of people who pepper abbreviations into conversations. “F.Y.I I’m heading to S.F. this Feb. for the P.T.R.Q.%.J. & F. Con.” Dude, if you’re in that much of a rush just keep movin’. You don’t need to waist your time talking to me. And sometimes folks use abbreviations that you didn’t even know existed. “Buddy, I don’t know what the hell a G.S.H.A.P. is. You need to pass out a glossary of abbreviation before you start a convo.” Mostly I just hate jerks. Oddly enough though, none of these gripes really made it into the cartoon. HOWEVER IT’S GOT A CUTE LIL’ BUNNY!

KIT, CF viewers. It’s mighty hot in LA, so I’m gonna go get some fro-yo with my ‘rents. JK. Late.

Erik Knutson + playgirl cover contract = Erik NUDEson. AH HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA! what were we talking about?

this is truley a Tour-De-Force

Mike Hollingsworth made a drawing of a dragon playing hacky sack with a unicorn which should be dunked in gold and may qualify him as the GREATEST CARTOONIST EVER.

when did you see that drawing? i did that for a illustration for a book that was never published. walt have you been rummaging through my waste paper basket?

PS: Mustache Contest is brilliant. Hi-larious and cute, plus it features one of my all-time fave songs, The Glow Worm. Bravo, sir.

Joey’s got it hanging up at his desk. Maybe Joey’s the dirty rummager.

Do you enjoy how I tardo can’t even “Reply” to the proper convo, BTW?

Very nice, poor lonely bunny
