“Joy Comes In The Morning”

December 15th, 2005

Another highlight of the week’s Channel Frederator episode (and of the series thus far), is a little film whipped up by Scott Friedman and Joe Ledbetter. I’ve seen “Joy Comes in the Morning” now and again, here and there, for the past few months, most notably at this year’s Ottawa International Animation Festival. While the animation pulls me in every time, it’s generally not until afterwards until I realize how well Scott and Joe have caught the vibe of the music of Xploding Plastix. I wouldn’t call this a rock ‘n’ roll video, but I walk away from “Joy” like I just walked away from one of my favorite late ’70’s Bowie songs. Man, do I root for that bunny.

Currently, Scott (”Joy’s” producer and co-director) is a designer/animator at Exhibit A here in Los Angeles. According to his site, Joe (characters/painting/co-director) is a full-time artist, also in LA.

Thanks for the film, guys.

As always, you can watch any Channel Frederator episode by downloading it from our site, or by subscribing to the whole series at iTunes. It’s still free.
