Bronk & Bongo

Date Night!

June 1st, 2006

Next week, Manny and Alan fly to LA to record voices for the Bronk & Bongo pilot, but tomorrow night we’re going out in NY to hear one of those voices in concert!

Adam Busch, who was a lead in Alan’s 1990s Nickelodeon series “Shelby Woo,” is a name many will know for his recurring role as Warren Meers on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Next Thursday, in all his nasal splendor, he’ll voice the part of Jerry Generic for us. This week, Common Rotation, the band he fronts with Eric Kufs, finishes the East Coast leg of their Spring 2006 tour. Common Rotation is a riotous folk/rock band with a couple of CDs to their name, tours with They Might Be Giants under their belt, and a fanatical following everywhere they’ve traveled. (The image above is from their 2004 UK tour).

I’ve seen them many times in NY and watched them record their awesome CD “The Big Fear,” produced by TMBG engineer Greg Thompson. This band is just a hell of a lot of fun. They play tonight in Philly at the World Cafe Live on Walnut Street, and tomorrow night in NY at R & R on 14th Street. If you go, look for Manny and Alan. We’ll be at the back table signing autographs. For each other.

Learn more about Common Rotation here. Bloggingly yours, Manny and Alan.

Yes! Yes! I love Buffy! I remember him from the last few seasons. This is great news guys!

Well I checked out there site and heard some of their music. And I have to say it’s really good. I’m familiar with Adam from Buffy as well and I could never have imagined his voice was capable of that. Damn multi-talented jerks, making us all feel more ordinary. Damn them all to hell!

My brother loved Buffy and got me into it. Adam was one of the nerds of Doom right? Why did he have to kill Tara? Why?

Isn’t he like really young? And you guys casted him as the oldest character? The boss? He must have some awesome vocal range, or maybe the rest of your cast is youngsters.

Who is KATHLEEN and why does she love music?

I think you posted this on the wrong blog. Although, now that you mention it, who the heck is Kathleen and why does she love music?
