Whoa. Just when you think Oh Yeah is slowing down it get’s it second wind. I remember seeing something about this ages ago. I mean AGES ago…like 6 months or something. Is that how long it takes with all the back and forth to get things to the point where it can be greenlit? Good luck guys.

Work?! Yes, it takes work, on the part of the creators and our part to get a greenlight. In this case, Manny & Alan both have day jobs that keep them busy, and by the time we all worked out this and that and that and this, we finally have gotten started.

Wow. We’ve gotten quite a bit of posts rather quickly. Actually Maynard, what Fred said is quite true, with day jobs getting in the way it has been difficult to get things done any faster on my end. Alan has always tackled the writing stuff quicker than i could make the artistic changes. I’m not a slacker, i just find it hard to commit to a drawing or scene. I think the approval proccess has been very easy going with minimal and sensible comments from FRED, Eric and Larry. Now that we are greenlit we are on an actual schedule so I have to turn things around on time.

Wow! Is this the first cartoon on OH YEAH with the common place characters of dogs. We’ve got cows, couple of cats, a monster, some monster kids, some witches, a rapper, another cow but a pirate, a rhino, a viking….it’s like a zoo in there.

I’m going to do my best to respond to everyone for as long as I can. I don’t know if there have been dogs or not before…but I think Fred has done something like 99 OH YEAH! shorts and I’m sure that some of those must have been dogs. I’m a dog lover and their sense of happiness, optimism and somewhat goofy attitude really lends itself to cartoons. Oh and Steven I don’t know what seems familiar but I’m a huge HANNA-BARBERA nut as you will all start seeing as I post more work so some of that may breed familiarity in my work, I prefer thinking of it as a nostalgic homage…and most of my work has some similarities in style and execution.

Dogs are the greatest…The funniest thing that comes to mind when I see them is the fact that they respond to the language that is spoken to them. I have a dog that only understands english…If I go to Bostwana and try to speak to a dog their, It will have NO idea what I am trying to say to them. Anyho! Foriegn dogs are no different then domestic. They all speak that universal lanugage of PLAY, SLEEP,LOVE, LICK, SMELL, and…well you know…!!! Looking forward to a new dog friend to follow. Am anticipating Mannys K-9 instincts come to life!

These characters are HILARIOUS looking! I can’t wait to hear them talk. Manny, when you are drawing, do you imagine the voices of the characters in your head? Do you and Alan ever play them and act stuff out? If so, what do the characters sound like to you guys? Please write back.

Right now, Bronk and Bongo sound amazingly similar to Manny and Alan! We don’t just imagine the characters’ voices, we act the parts. Manny and I are both very cartoonish in real life and highly uninhibited. We speak the dialogue to hear it for real, throw ourselves around the room to simulate the action and the timing, scream when imaginary scary things are rushing toward us for the rhythm. . . we even eat from bowls on the floor. Which might just be personal preference, since Bronk and Bongo wear clothes, talk, and eat like humans. Thanks for writing! Keep watching.

Ha! I sometimes imagine the characters voices in my head but this time around it took sometime to really figure out their personalities. Alan had this great voice for BONGO…actually it’s more of a one word phrase that he kept repeating but it was hilarious and it helped me get into the mindset of the character. And originally for BRONK we envisioned him like JOE PESCI but later on we got the idea that he would be kind of like Bud Abbott and that really gave me a frame of mind on how to draw him…he went from being cutesy to being more aggressive…and ALAN once again does a great Bud Abbott. I do a flawless SCOOBY-DOO and BULLWINKLE…..no really…..I do….

Best of luck with the cartoon. I always knew you’d go to the dogs someday, but I didn’t expect you to do it with such class!
As the proud creator of an Oh Yeah! Cartoons! cartoon myself (#21, season 3) (or was it #31, season 2?) I know what it’s like to make your first toon. The long hours, the sleepless nights. Feel free to ask for any advice on how to create a big hit. I love to help out the younger generation. After all, these kids coming up today will be the Cartoon Stars of Tomorrow!
