Boneheads!!!

Greetings Cartoon Bloggers!
Hello! Hadley here, writing on behalf of Polygon Pictures in Japan. I work for Radar Cartoons which is the company that represents Polygon in the U.S. So I’ll be blogging for them. To give you a little back ground info, Polygon is an award-winning CG studio from Japan that has been around for over 23 years!
Radar is very proud to introduce Polygon’s short for Random Cartoons. It’s a CG film called Boneheads! Boneheads is about Bone and Rocco, two prehistoric creatures and their pursuit for bananas. The cartoon is very quick, colorful, and crazy. It’s like nothing out there.
That’s it for now. I’ll be posting more pics and creator bios very soon so keep checking back!

Interesting… i guess they dont need frederator to actually make the cartoon then, just using it for TV. Seems like an interesting image above, cant wait for more. -Steve

Not exactly Steve. Just like all the other Random! Cartoons shorts (I almost typed ‘Oh Yeah!’), Polygon developed this short with the Frederator team and will do the animation in Japan, rather than Korea, Taiwan, or Canada.

Welcome, Hadley, to you, Rita, and the whole Polygon team.

Really interesting style. The characters look carved out of wood. I’m guessing this is 3D- is it done with Maya or Max? Is Polygon producing all the animation for the short?

Dahveed!
Yeah, those are two wooden models of the main characters. The artist’s name is Mr Kenzi Murabayashi. He is a sculpture artist, illustrator, industrial designer etc… who works with Polygon. All his sculptures are made out of wood. You can go to his personal blog to check all his cool stuff.

Hi guys! And welcome…Really cool character designs you got there. I love the color and the faceted treatment as well. Here’s a crazy question, are those the actual models above or are those hand carved figures?

Thanks Fred for a very warm welcome. We are delighted to be a member of the immense talent that forms Random! Cartoons. We’re already deep into production, and what’s been produced so far looks amazing. Hiroshi’s in a good groove, I assure you will be pleased. お楽しみに。
