As a result of “tying one on” one too many times, a chubby guy loses his consciousness on his way home. Waking up, he finds himself trapped in an endless-looping staircase. Trying hard to escape, the truth is another nightmare…… Watch Halucii.
From the website:
Hallucii is a short 3D animated film created by Goo-Shun Wang who studied in School of Visual Arts(NY), MFA Computer Art program. He tried to build the physically impossible illusion world by using 3D software and make a funny story with it.

Animated by the studio Monovich out of WA. and helmed by Stephen Fitzgerald, Stand is a beautifully rendered film about a windmill that brings hope to a dusty old valley. I especially love the music as it really pulls you in to the story.

John Martz is a really talented artist and illustrator. His work has a really nice, young, cartoonish style to it that is uniquely his own. I really love his use of line style, makes for a really cool styled drawing.

Yan Theriault is an animator who runs his own one man animation studio, based out of Montreal, Quebec, where he produces his Phone Prankster show: The Scamtoons.
Keeping with the irreverent traditions of Phone Prank luminaries such as the Jerky Boys, Longmont Potion-Castle and Comedy Central’s Crank Yankers; Yan is part of the new generation keeping the phoneline tapped.
Lucky for Channel Frederator, Yan has call waiting and he took the time to answer a few questions for us!
Thanks Yan!

CH.Fred:1. How did you come up with the idea for this cartoon?
YT:The final idea came out of two frustrations I just had. The first being that I don’t have access to voice talent and the second being that I’m not yet very talented at scripting and writing jokes or sketches. Being a prankster myself, it hit me in the face one night. I came up with this idea that would give me access to various types of character and scenarios which I wouldn’t even think about myself. It’s like a reality-cartoon in a sense.
2. Who are some of your influences?
Joe Cartoon, Stan Lee,Joseph Barbara, Hergé, Gotlib.
3. What do you do when you get stuck creatively?
Close my notebook and take a walk. I use my surrounding mostly. If that doesn’t do it, I go to sleep. In my case, a good night of sleep is very therapeutic, in all sphere of my life.
4. How do you go about picking your victims? Do you randomly pick them out of a phonebook?
Usually, I come up with my basic scenario. Then I do a search in Canada411.com and start from the very first on top of the list. My favorites are commerces, company’s or governmental services. They always start up being nice to you.
5. What are you working on currently?
I just released another sketch which you might want to take a look at for a further episode of the Fred ![]()
It is titled “Parachute Malfunction”, that should give you an idea. I am also working on another Scamtoons that I pranked not too long ago and a little 20 to 30 seconds sketch series that should be up before the end of the summer.
Thanks again for submitting Yan! I’m sure we’ll all be keeping an eye out for what you have in store for the future!

Milt Kahl, one of Walt Disney’s legendary “Nine Old Men”, was born in San Francisco, California, in 1909. At 25, Milt joined the Walt Disney Studios and spent the next 42 years drawing and animating for Walt Disney.
Never completing a formal art education, his talents were observed by other Disney illustrators and animators such that Disney placed Milt in charge of the most difficult assignments. Over the years, Milt helped bring to life “Pinocchio”, “Peter Pan”, “Alice” of Alice in Wonderland, the “Prince” in Sleeping Beauty, and worked on full feature animated classics “The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad”, “Cinderella”, “101 Dalmatians” and “The Jungle Book” among others.
Milt Kahl retired from Disney in 1976 and pasted away in 1987.
In 1989, Milt Kahl was posthumously named a Disney Legend.

Prank calls, Lactose Intolerance, Ultra Trippiness, Octopi… OH MY!
I’ve made a few prank phone calls in my lifetime One being to rockstar Danzig: those calls consisted of stifling giggles and not speaking just to hear him groggy and hungover, yelling various obscenities and other things I can’t really mention here.
The other, to an old man in my neighborhood, who would almost always, get up and check his fridge to make sure it was still running. Poor guy.
This week’s Channel Frederator Episode 82 celebrates life and it’s unexpected moments.
Which at times can be mischievous, intolerable, very strange, and can pull you under every now and again and not let go.
Very special Channel Fred Kudos goes out to the filmmakers for submitting to the Fred!
—A Cat in the Vac, submitted by Yan Theriault. Ever accidentally got your pet stuck inside a vacuum cleaner? Who you gonna call (for that)? (Sorry, I couldn’t resist a GhostBusters reference.)
—Mousetrap, submitted by Tyson Ibele. Lactose Intolerance. Are you informed? This mouse isn’t!
—Machin Machine, submitted by Yaniv Cahoua. Ultra Trippiness and an appearance by… Charlie Chaplin?!?! Huh?
—Sinking Margot, submitted by Julie Bergman. Oh Octopi. Sweet tentacled beasts of the deep blue. Did you guys hear about the Gigantic one they just caught a few months back with Suction cup thingies the size of Truck Tires?!? Egads! This cartoon is sweeter than that.
So, what did we learn today ? Kitties and vacuums do NOT mix. Mice don’t know squat about Lactose Intolerance. Charlie Chaplin?!?! And there are some really big Octopi out there.
Suction Cup Thingies,

We’re lucky people; Joey Ahlbm’s starting a blog. Right here, at our place. (Don’t go yet, he won’t be posting until the end of the week.)
I’ve posted about Joey Ahlbum twice before because, aside from the fact we’ve worked together forever, I love his work. A unique graphic stylist, he tells witty stories that make you fall in love with his characters. He’s worked for Sesame Street (short films and Elmo’s World) for several years, directed a season of Clifford’s Puppy Days, and has designed and directed commercials.
I’m thrilled to give Joey his first home on the web, and I’ll let you know when he puts up a stand alone site.
