It’s Over!
That title card was painted by the fantastical Paul Linsley! Who just published his first children’s book called Bobby Stellar. Check it out at www.highergroundpress.com
so yeah.. I’m pretty sure Adventure Time is over. It’s a pretty fun time watching it.. so I hope you all enjoy it when you get the chance to see it. My buddy Casey Basichis scored the cartoon.. his music is really powerful.. in the heart. and it puts rockets on all the drama. it’s totally super.
PEACE MAN,

Pen-
I have watched “Adventure Time” three times. It never gets old. Every line of dialogue is unexpected and non-generic. It’s fantastic. Great work, and I can’t wait to see “Bravest Warriors”

I caught “Adventure Time” at the Random! Cartoon screening at Nickelodeon, and I COULD. NOT. STOP. LAUGHING. Awesome work! I’m reccing it all over the place and am crouching in excited anticipation of your next short, like a cat crouches in excited anticipation of mousey death.

PENDELTON! What? Dood, that title card is so awesome, I… I really can’t describe my feelings for it. All I have to say is… thanks for putting the sword through the title, that just… yeah. Now I can go to sleep, goodbye. P.S. Dragons are awesome too.
On June 7th, 2006 at 12:00 am
I finally got to see ‘Adventure Time’ last time I was down in LA, and it lived up to it’s hype (it was hilarious)! My favorite part is Lincoln’s appearance, so no one copy me! Great job, Pen!
On June 11th, 2006 at 12:00 am
HOW can I see it?
HOW?
On June 15th, 2006 at 12:00 am
I saw the screening at Nick. I’ve been raving about it ever since. Kudos. It’s a grand cartoon. Beautiful and hilarious and wonderous, too.
On July 24th, 2006 at 12:00 am
I saw “Adventure Time” totally by accident at Comic-con, and I have to say: I would gladly hand over everything in my wallet just to see it again now.
Unspeakably fantastic. I’m going to make sure EVERYBODY sees it when it airs!
So… let us know, yeah?
On July 26th, 2006 at 12:00 am
I saw “Adventure Time” at the Con and I don’t see what the excitement is about. I didn’t like the art direction, the gags were not funny, and the story pacing was awkward at best. Yeah, I heard cheering and laughing in the back but I believe it was Pen’s buddies because they were laughing on cue, especially before the joke was delivered. The only ones that weren’t laughing were the kids and they’re the ones that Pen should please, not just his buddies…
On July 26th, 2006 at 12:00 am
Haha.. Hey buddy. Sorry you didn’t like the show. Just for the record, some people I didn’t know came up to me after the show who liked it and I asked them if people other than my friends were laughing and they said they saw everyone laughing. I don’t think i knew anyone in the back… and the people in the front were just laughy.. they were laughing at just my story boards. that’s nuts. anyway.. I’m whole heartedly in this business to make cartoons for kids.. and not for my buddies. And one of my friends said they overheard a kid quoting the cartoon? I think that’s pretty rad.. I don’t know. Sorry you felt so strongly opposed to the cartoon that you were like “I’ve gotta track this guy down and take him down a notch!” It’s starting to hit me that there will always be people who like and dislike my cartoons. I’m just going to keep trying to find that link between everyones sense of humor so’s to make the world chortle. so.. sorry buddy. maybe next time.
On July 29th, 2006 at 12:00 am
My two friends who hadn’t seen the cartoon before laughed out loud, and I laughed again after seeing it once before, it’s a great short.
On September 21st, 2006 at 12:00 am
Yeah, I saw it at the Con and I was laughing my arsebat off!!! I do know Pendelton, but i had never seen the cartoon before. I was definitely laughing at the jokes themselves and not the fact that someone I know made the jokes. I’ve watched some of my friends’ films before and unfortunately not had much of a reaction, and well, that sucks. But this didn’t suck. This sucked the layer of nasty dirt off the egg of suck, then spat it out very far and chucked the egg against a brick wall! Then proclaimed it’s victory. But yeah… I can assure you that not only Pen’s friends were laughing at this, I mean, come on, Pen doesn’t have any friends! And if he does, well, I guess they are all the people who were laughing in that room, which was a lot. Yeah, cool, I just gotta say again that the title card rocked my gord off! Laterz Pen and folk.
On January 13th, 2007 at 12:00 am
I thoroughly enjoyed it, even when I wasn’t laughing.
On January 19th, 2007 at 12:00 am
Just for the record, I showed this short to a family with their 11 year old daugher, and she was quoting the cartoon as soon as it was over.
On July 26th, 2006 at 12:00 am
I was one of the above-mentioned people who talked to Pen after the panel. I probably can’t speak for the whole crowd, but everyone around me was laughing anyway.
On August 21st, 2006 at 12:00 am
Dude Pen you don’t have to address critics! Just write another dope rhyme, i’ll lace the beat, and we’ll straight stone cold diss those haters.
On January 13th, 2007 at 12:00 am
The most AMAZING show I have ever seen. NEEDS to be a series.
On January 13th, 2007 at 12:00 am
I agree. This NEEDS to be a series. Random, witty, and original. The world needs more of this.
Congratulations on making such an amazing piece of work. If you don’t continue Adventure Time, I hope you keep these wonderful characters alive in your drawings, because I know I’m not the only one who loves them. I’ve seen Adventure Time posted on so many forums, blogs and boardrooms already.
Thank you for making such an awesome show!
On January 13th, 2007 at 12:00 am
Please tell me there will be more! I loved it!
On January 13th, 2007 at 12:00 am
THIS MADE MY NIGHT. PLEASE MAKE THIS A SERIES! PLEASE OH PLEASE OH DEAR GOD YES!
On January 31st, 2007 at 12:00 am
Give us at least a full season on dvd. This cartoon is the best cartoon I have ever seen. The music was terrific as well. How the characters moved was great, and the voices are perfect. espessialy the boy character “Pen”. Please will you make this at the very least a dvd release? I would snatch this up in a heartbeat!

THIS MADE MY NIGHT. THIS NEEDS TO BE A SERIES. PLEASE OH PLEASE OH DEAR GOD YESSS.
On January 14th, 2007 at 12:00 am
I think having it as a series would lessen the random and as such suck.
On January 15th, 2007 at 12:00 am
I happened to see this today, as it’s gaining popularity on YTMND.com. I think this should most definately be a series. It would be rhombus.
On January 16th, 2007 at 12:00 am
this is absolutely amazing, and when i saw it i was almost pissed that i couldn’t find more. i was like *this* close to punching something. even if kids didn’t get all the jokes, it would be enormously entertaining to them, because its so off the wall. for the love of GOD pen, please make this a story.
On January 16th, 2007 at 12:00 am
I almost feel ashamed it took me this long to catch Adventure Time! Brilliantly random and choice work dude! I’d like to see more… though I’d hate to see it turned into a series, where Producers and networks get involved. They would most likely suck the fun and originallity out of Adventure Time!
On January 16th, 2007 at 12:00 am
that was absolutely hilarious, i’d love to see the show on cartoon network’s Adult Swim just b ecause its so trippy and ridiculous
On January 16th, 2007 at 12:00 am
incredible job. need more.
On January 17th, 2007 at 12:00 am
Great animation and very funny! Hope to see a few more as it really seemed to be part of a series. I wish you the best on your future geometric journeys.
On January 18th, 2007 at 12:00 am
I just wanted to say that I love Adventure Time. My two year old daughter and I have watched it multiple times. I would love to see more.
On January 18th, 2007 at 12:00 am
You are a genius. My friends and I absolutely love it… It didn’t really seem like it was for kids to me, though. The weird humor would be sort of hard to get. Don’t get me wrong, there are lots of parts that kids would like, but I think adults would be able to appreciate it more. I bet the Adult Swim community especially would definitely fall in love with this.
On January 19th, 2007 at 12:00 am
Made me feel like a 6 year old again.
Mathamatical! Rhombus! Loved it.
On January 19th, 2007 at 12:00 am
Just watched this, I must say I’m impressed. It was random which is why I liked it! It would be cool if this becomes a series, your cartoon reminds me of what nickelodeon used to be. Awsome job and keep it up!
On January 19th, 2007 at 12:00 am
I’ve watched this a few times and laughed every time, and my friends were dying when I showed it to them. Amazing sense of humor and, honestly, I think it’s a hell of a lot more educational than most of the children’s shows these days. Not educational like “this is a triangle, T-R-I-A-N-G-L-E,” but like, if I was a kid and I watched it, I’d ask my parents what some of the words meant, like ‘elemental’ and why Jake was so much older in dog years. Playing the viola is cool thanks to Jake, and math is also cool, stuff like that. Just little things that are so fun to watch that the child probably wouldn’t even realize that they’re learning. And it’s got a sense of humor everyone loves, so parents would like watching it along with their kids, which is great.
Really, this has rekindled my faith in children’s television. I can’t praise this enough. Amazing job.
On January 20th, 2007 at 12:00 am
It’s nice to see a new cartoon that doesn’t take itself or cartooning so seriously. But really, I bet Pen Ward DOES take it seriously, the cartoon is just so good that it comes off that smoothly.
On January 21st, 2007 at 12:00 am
Mathematical! Rhombus! ICE CLOPS!

For you, Pen. For you.
Your show HAS to be a series. cartoons these days are awful; watching your show made me laugh aloud at a cartoon for the first time since Invader ZIM got cancelled. It’s shows like this - creative, cute, and overall GOOD - that practically made me who I am today.
On January 23rd, 2007 at 12:00 am
Adventure Time is a YouTube and LiveJournal sensation. I love it. I want more. Make more and I will give you money. (Please.)
On January 24th, 2007 at 12:00 am
Pen, I just want to say that your show is the first original idea at Nick in a long time. Right up there with Ren & Stimpy, Rocko’s Modern Life, Hey Arnold!, and Spongebob. Get this everywhere you can, because this needs to be a show.
P.S. As a current animation student, who where your artistic influences growing up?
On January 28th, 2007 at 12:00 am
Sorry if I’m late on this at all…I found this page a long time ago and I was trying frantically to find it again. Adventure Time is just one of those timeless classics that people are still going to be enjoying 50 years from now. It’s so silly and random…I’m in love with it. I giggle every time I see it. Pen, I really think you should turn this into a series. It would make so many people happy over and over, including me. Anyways, TV needs more random cartoons like this one! Excellent job Pen!
On February 11th, 2007 at 12:00 am
where can we still watch the clip? it’s devestaiting me that i cant find it anywhere!
On February 15th, 2007 at 12:00 am
The humor is perfect in this cartoon! Please, please make this into a series.
On March 27th, 2007 at 12:00 am
Is there any way to make more Adventure Time episodes? This is the most amazing thing that I have ever seen in my entire 24 years of being on Earth. It would be a crime not to keep this going. Let me know if I can help.
On May 3rd, 2007 at 12:00 am
Want to see more adventure time, you can’t leave us hanging after one episode like that. The adventure time comic strips are great as well. there’s nothing like it.
On July 28th, 2007 at 12:00 am
For the love of all that you find sacred, please, PLEASE make more of these.
On October 15th, 2007 at 12:00 am
You know how you remember all the stuff you watched as a kid really fondly and then when you see kids stuff today it just seems to suck by comparison? This doesn’t! The awesomeness of this actually completely overpowers nostalgia, and I’m left thinking “Man, nothing this good was airing when I was a kid.” It doesn’t look like you’re able to make more of these, given the lack of news about that and the volume of requests for it, but could you just keep us posted on whatever you ARE doing? There’s a special kind of genius to this that makes me want to see everything you make for the rest of your creative life.
On March 31st, 2008 at 12:00 am
dude… i was crying with laughter from this i told my friends about it and now my school has been quoting it and watching it everyday
